Overview

HFM (HF Markets) is the broker we trade with and the one we point our students to. It has been around since 2010, it lets Nigerian traders open accounts in naira, and it gives new traders something most brokers don’t: a safety net for their first weeks of live trading.

Why we chose HFM

  • Start small, in naira. Cent and Premium accounts have no minimum deposit, the Zero account starts from $25 (₦37,500), and accounts can be held in NGN. So you are not losing money converting back and forth.
  • The platforms you already know. MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader 5, HFM WebTrader and the HFM app. Trade on your laptop or phone with the same account.
  • One account, 500+ markets. Forex, gold and other metals, indices, energies, commodities, stocks, bonds, ETFs and crypto. Everything we analyse in class and on our YouTube channel.
  • Accounts for every stage. Practise with real money on Cent, trade commission free on Premium, or move to Zero for spreads from 0.0 pips (commission applies) as your volume grows.
  • Copy trading built in. Follow strategy providers or share your own, directly from the HFM app and MT5.

HFM Shield 500: your first 25 days with a safety net

The hardest part of trading is the start. Real money, real nerves, and the mistakes everyone makes early on. The Shield 500 account softens that. During your first 25 days of trading, HFM turns your losses into tradable funds, up to $500, so an early mistake doesn’t end your journey.

  1. Open a Shield 500 account in myHF after you register.
  2. Deposit at least $10 within 21 days of opening the account.
  3. Trade with protection for 25 days. Losses are credited back as a tradable amount, up to $500. Profits you make with it are yours to keep.

There is no extra fee for the protection. It is for new clients making their first deposit and can be used once per client. The credit is a tradable amount, not cash. HFM’s terms and conditions apply, read them on HFM’s website before you start.

How your money is protected

  • Segregated accounts: client money is kept separate from HFM’s company funds.
  • Negative balance protection: if your balance goes below zero, HFM resets it to zero, so you never owe more than you deposited.
  • USD 5 million insurance programme covering HFM’s liabilities to clients against fraud, errors and other risks.
